TSG Hires Premier Animal Health Expert Kevin Woodward (August 2010)

TSG is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Kevin Woodward. As a highly qualified animal health expert with over 30 years of experience in toxicology and pharmacovigilance, Dr. Woodward will be in charge of animal health consulting at TSG.

Dr. Woodward has significant scientific expertise and leadership experience in U.S. and European regulatory procedures, and drug safety assessment. This includes overseeing several internal audits and regulatory authority inspections, managing a staff dealing with regulatory procedures including mutual recognition/decentralized applications and variations for pharmaceutical and biological products, and assembling a team of experts specializing in pharmaceuticals, vaccines, aquaculture vaccines and Good Laboratory Practices. He was also responsible for all aspects, scientific and administrative, within the Veterinary Medicines Directorate, and liaison with the Medicines Control Agency (now the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, MHRA), with other European veterinary regulatory agencies and with the European Medicines Agency. He has been a member of the Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP), chairman of its Safety of Residues Working Party, and a member of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). He has also been a delegate to the Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods.

Dr. Woodward received a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Salford and a Doctor of Science for contributions to pharmacovigilance, toxicology and regulatory toxicology from the University of Salford. Prior to TSG, he was the Director of Global Pharmacovigilance for Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health. Dr. Woodward joined TSG on August 5, 2010.
