CA Notice 2012-10 & CA Notice 2012-11: Notice to Initiate Risk Assessment Process
for the Active Ingredients Propyzamide & Esfenvalerate. (October 2012)

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) has initiated the risk assessment process for registered pesticide products containing the active ingredient Propyzamide (California Notice 2012-10) and Esfenvalerate (California Notice 2012-11). Based on studies that show sufficient qualities to allow risk characterization, DPR has identified Propyzamid and Esfenvalerate as having potential adverse effects on human health. DPR is required by the Food and Agricultural Code (FAC) to review the toxicology database of all registered pesticide active ingredients and assess dietary risks associated with pesticide usage.

During the risk assessment process, DPR will evaluate the implications of adverse effects on human health. If DPR decides that Propyzamide and Esfenvalerate cause significant adverse human health effects because of their usage as active ingredients in pesticide products, then action will be taken to mitigate these effects. To view current studies DPR has on file, please visit http://apps.cdpr.ca.gov/ereglib/main.cfm.

You may also submit relevant data or information regarding these risk assessments to DPR. Please address submissions to:
