EPA Adds Chemicals Subject to TSCA to ChemView Database Search Function (November 2015)

EPA recently announced that ChemView, EPA’s web tool for information on chemicals with information on over 12,000 chemicals, now provides access to information regarding chemicals that fall under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA). ChemView contains a list of “Section 12(b)” chemicals that are subject to TSCA export notice requirements, along with links to Federal Register notices.
This latest feature allows ChemView to serve as a central database that incorporates information from other federal databases including: the National Institute of Health, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the National Library of Medicine. Rather than searching each of the databases separately, individuals can now use ChemView to obtain search results from all databases simultaneously. ChemView also provides access to the Toxics Release Inventory and Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) information. Data related to Significant New Use Rules (SNURs) and Safer Chemical Ingredients List (SCIL) developed under the Safe Choice Program are available for many of the chemicals in the ChemView database.
