Prop 65: Listing of Chloral, Chloral Hydrate, 1,1,1,2-Tetrachloroethane
The California EPA’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has issued a statement that the chemicals Chloral, Chloral Hydrate, 1,1,1.2-Tetrachloroethane and Trichloroacetic Acid have been added to the list of chemicals known to the State to cause cancer under Proposition 65.

Proposition 65 requires that certain substances identified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) be listed as known to cause cancer. OEHHA issued a notice of intent to list these chemicals, which includes the basis for their listing, in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 2013, No. 30-Z) published on July 26, 2013. The public comment period on this notice of intent to list closed on August 26, 2013. No public comments were received, and the listing of these chemicals became effective on September 13, 2013.
