DTSC Provides Safer Consumer Product Workshop Details
(April 2014)

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) provided a reminder for the upcoming Safer Consumer Products workshops. The three workshops are as follows:

Welcome and Summary of the Safer Consumer Products Program
Introductions and Housekeeping
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) staff.

Background and Implementation
Branch Chief, Karl Palmer, will provide opening remarks and background on the Safer Consumer Products (SCP) regulations and process.

1:10-1:35 pm

Public input
The public may offer general comments on the SCP process.

1:35-1:45 pm - BREAK

The subsequent agenda items will occur concurrently in different rooms for each of Priority Products. During this time, meeting participants may move to their desired Priority Product session, as identified by room number, below:

The presenter will describe the rationale for selecting and scope of the Priority Product.

Topic 1: Discussion of the Priority Product description
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to comment on the Draft Regulatory Concept and the related questions identified in Topic 1.

Topic 2: Discussion of the Chemical(s) of Concern
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to comment on the Draft Regulatory Concept and the related questions identified in Topic 2.

Topic 3: Discussion of Market Information
Meeting participants will have the opportunity to provide input relating to the questions identified in Topic 3.

Public Input
Meeting participants may comment on any outstanding issues relating to the session’s Priority Product.

3:20-3:30 pm
Closing Remarks
DTSC staff will lead a short discussion on the next steps for the SCP program.
