Position: Administrative and Accounting Manager
Location: Washington, DC
Supports company operations by maintaining office systems, procedures and processes, supervise and manage accounting staff as well as other non-consulting/administrative and seasonal staff.
Job Description: The Administrative and Accounting Manager will report to the regional Vice President and will be responsible for managing day-to-day office operations of the Washington, DC office and supervising the accounting staff of the firm.
▲ Supervise staff performing general office tasks such as filing, scanning, managing incoming mail, expenses, draft invoice review, conflict, contracts and processing of signed contracts; provide input to regional Vice President on successes and issues as they relate to work performance and objectives
▲ Coordinate, procure and maintain contracts and leases for the office, its equipment and computers, including working with vendors and property manager
▲ Oversee maintenance of office equipment, computers, and software
▲ Coordinate office and consultant IT services
▲ Oversee supply requisition and ensure that resources are obtained to support continuing consultant services
▲ Schedule, assign, and monitor workload of Administrative Staff, following up on work results and ensuring that business needs and consultants’ project needs are met. Recruit administrative (non-consulting) staff: develop job announcements for management approval; post approved descriptions and manage applicant pool, arrange and participate in interviews
▲ Train, or oversee the training of, temporary, seasonal, and non-consulting administrative staff
▲ Conduct performance evaluations; make recommendations concerning employment, reclassifications, promotions, terminations and disciplinary actions.
▲ Participate in special projects and assumes other responsibilities as assigned
▲ Supervise staff performing accounting functions for the firm including payables, receivables, and client billing
▲ Review, evaluate and resolving billing process issues if necessary
▲ Act as liaison between the consultants and accounting staff regarding billing and related matters
▲ Coordinate and resolve Elite financial systems software problems through consultation with parent company
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accounting, General Business, or a related field, or the equivalent in work experience. Minimum of five (5) years of direct supervisory experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
▲ Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques to oversee the work activities of staff to ensure effective operations and compliance with all applicable laws.
▲ Experience with Elite enterprise financial management software (preferred)
▲ Ability to coach and mentor staff to develop skills and improve performance
▲ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
▲ Strong problem resolution abilities that appropriately combine logic, analysis, creativity, and follow-through
▲ Self-directed and independently motivated, yet able to contribute to team projects and take direction
▲ Excellent time-management and organization skills
▲ Ability to delegate
