Registering pesticides internationally has become
more complex due to the increased data requirements among industrialized
nations such as the U.S., Japan and the European Union (EU) member states.
The lack of uniform Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards only
complicates the acceptability of studies in different countries.
A growing number of developing countries
are implementing the Food and
Agriculture Organization's (FAO) International Code of Conduct on Pesticide
Use and Distribution, which means an increase in the registration
requirements in these countries. Furthermore, the reregistration of older
pesticides previously approved in the U.S. and EU requires manufacturers to
assume significant burdens of proof of product health and environmental
safety in the form of data, analyses and risk assessments.
TSG offers international registration assistance in a number of areas.
This includes advising manufacturers on the requirements necessary to
register new pesticides and obtain experimental use permits outside the
U.S., as well as assisting non-U.S. firms seeking North American regulatory
support. Our reputation with U.S. regulatory agencies in these areas is
unparalleled, enabling offshore manufacturers to acquire significant U.S.
markets for their products. We offer comprehensive registration services,
including data requirement determination, regulatory strategy development,
cost analysis and registration coordination in Europe, Asia, South America,
Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India and the Middle East.
In
addition, our staff is well-versed in Global Harmonized Registrations (GHR)
where a single pesticide application is filed in multiple countries,
allowing for coordinated data and label review for simultaneous pesticide
registration in each country. TSG coordinates these global registrations
through offices in
Europe (TSGE – United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Slovenia)
and
Canada (TSG Canada – Ontario).
