Federal Regulatory Support: Import/Export - Food

Importing food into the United States requires compliance with both existing and recently established laws. Under the Bioterrorism Act of 2002, it is necessary to register all facilities that manufacture, process, pack, or hold food regulated by the FDA. In addition, a notification of all regulated food products must be issued prior to arrival. This includes animal feed, dietary supplements, infant formula, beverages and food additives. The Notice of Arrival (NOA) must be submitted to the FDA containing all required data; however submission deadlines depend on the form of transportation of the imported product. TSG assists companies importing food into the U.S. with food manufacturing facility registration and ensuing FDA notification, acting as a U.S. registration agent, ensuring cGMP compliance in food manufacturing facilities, and other general regulatory issues that arise during import.
